can i copy a Pay per view movie on my dvr?

i have dish network and i wasn't sure if there was some kind of block on that.

You should be able to copy PPV movies (the one's that appear on a fixed channel and start at a specific time), however there is usually a restriction to block copying of video-on-demand movies (the one's that can be ordered to start right away).

You should be able to copy anything you are able to watch on a DVR.
