Not possible. At least, not for any certification worth more than the paper it's printed on!

You can get certification books from a bookstore and learn the material without taking any classes, or possibly even find some materials online. But eventually you'll have to go to a test center and fork over a few bucks to take the test to get a cert. So: no, it's not free; and no, you can't do it totally over the Net.

Recently MIT has opened up free on line courses. Depending on what it is you are interested in. If you are up to the task of home study...here is the link.

Dell certification cost money, but is all done on line. It is relatively inexpensive, and is a fast track into the IT business.
