I have a friend that I have only been friends with for less than a year. We haven't even hung out all that much over the past few months. She is moving tomorrow and wants to come by to say goodbye (she will only be 3 hours away and plans to come back to visit). I have been sick all week. I just got home, it is Friday, and I want to crash. I don't want to have to clean the house for company and I don't feel like seeing anyone. What should I do?

suck it up. You don't have to clean, I'm sure she knows by friday ppl are a bit tired. Why put on a charade, be yourself and I'm sure she's not going to be there all night. Go wash your face and try to nice because you don't know when you will see her next and honestly if you haven't made effort to see eachother for the last few months, this may be the last time you see her. People get busy and life goes on, think of this as almost a good bye, but hope it's not.

Friends really are important. You will realize this the older you get. Make the effort. To heck with the house, just explain that you're sick so you haven't done a damn thing or meet her somewhere close by for some coffee or juice and cut it short explaining that you're sick and want to go to bed.
A true friend will understand and won't have a problem with either one of these situations.

Tell her that you are sick and that you are sorry you cant see her tonight. Tell her youll call her next week when you feel better and that you can then make plans to see each other even if you have to meet half way. She's only 3 hours away from you. Its not like shes 3 states away from you. Shell understand.

tell her how sick you are feeling and that if she really needs to, then she should go to your house for a few minutes just to say goodbye

Tell her that you have to take a rain check because you aren't feeling well. Maybe go out to visit her that way she'll be the one cleaning.

if you don't want to see her, then arrange for another time when you guys can see each other. tell her you are sick, she will understand.
but if this is the last time you can see her, I would see her even If I was sick. this might be your last chance to see your friend.
