I know about getting more RAM, but is there any type of software out there??? Or something???

A better video card would be the solution, unfortunately this is a nearly impossible laptop upgrade. Although I've heard in the future, you may be able to buy an add on PC video card.

More RAM would allow the following without affecting system performance greatly:
- run more applications at the same time
- run a particular application that requires a lot of RAM
RAM is only a small factor in the performance of a computer.
Best way to tell if you notebook is sufficient enough is to check the system requirements for a game you want to play and multiply those requirements by 2. Than compare that to the specs of your notebook.
