We're seniors and we're supposed to volunteer to chaperone a middle school dance/fund raiser and I don't know if I should go. I'm kind of tired, I don't really want to listen to the loud music, I thinkI'll get a headache. And I have social anxiety and its pretty bad today. On the other hand, this would probably be my last chance to do something like this and spend some time with people before we graduate.

Make a showing and then leave. Once you get there, it may not be so bad, and you just might start to perk up. I think it's terrific that your school promotes volunteer work, and that you also have a stake in your senior year. As for social anxiety, your job is really just to be visible and walk around. So, it can't be too bad. Give it a go. Tomorrow you will be glad you did.

I'd say go; in the end, you'll be happy you went (it'll be your good deed for the day).
