Yes their are 2GB sticks or RAM, you have to go to an online retailer, the land based stores don't sell a wide variety of stuff. As for installing Vista 64 bit, yes you need a 64 bit CPU. For Intel CPUs, all the new Core 2 Duos, all the Pentium Ds, and some of the very late Pentium 4s are 64 bit capable. For AMD, well if it has 64 in the name, it is 64 bit capable. If you want to check a specific processor, email me the model number and I can tell you.

If you don't know whether you have a 64-bit CPU, you probably don't. You have to go out of your way, and usually to a fair amount of trouble and expense, in order to get one.

As for your RAM, the best way to answer all your questions is to visit www.crucial.com. Crucial is a very good seller of RAM, and their website has a tool which will scan your machine and tell you information like how many RAM slots you have, how many you have used, and the total amount of RAM your machine can handle.

If your motherboard says that, then you have a 64-bit capable socket.

There are 2GB sticks of RAM that you can buy.
