How does Yahoo Answers make money from operation of these forums?

I dont see any advertisements on my screen.
What is the incentive for Yahoo Answers to operate these forums?
But I have seen other Yahoo Answerers advertising paying people to answer questions.
what is that all about? Why would YA pay people to answer questions ?

gets you online in their seach engine; believe me they are not losing money
