I am Capricorn myself, but i wanted to read other peoples thoughts before i outed myself...
as for the melancholy side, i find i get periods of black moods for no reason at all that i am aware of, & days later they pass.

I know three Capricorns and this is true of all of them. They just aren't all that happy go lucky. But remember: a person's rising sign figures into how they seem on the outside. There could be some Capricorns with a happy, outgoing rising sign (like Sagittarius) that don't see so melancholy.

Maybe. It depends on our outlook on life, which changes as time goes by. If we feel confident about ourselves and loved by others, then it doesn't matter that much to us if we fail personally. The tendency to pessimism has to do more with doubts of self-worth. Personal success is a way of feeling secure. The doubts go away when we learn to be less serious and more spontaneous. Capricorns always win. If something is really important to us, we will work long and hard to get it and we will win.
Remember life is like a sailboat. This sailboat is in the middle of the sea. It faces adversities like wind, rain, whirlpools...but, somehow it has the strength and determination to keep moving toward tows a better place. Work hard but have fun at the same time. Also, remember that love is very accepting and forgiving.

I' am a Capricorn and I ' am not like that at all. The Capricorn sign varies with each person because they are different types, not all Caps are the same. I know some people just like you describe and they are not Capricorns. It depends on the person and their life experiences, not the signs.

Capricorn's have pensive mood's but I don't think they are melancholy. I am a Capricorn and I tend to hide my depression's very well. Capricorns just tend to worry alot and have very bad mood swings but not because of being melancholy.Capricorns are just flat out out spoken and say whats on there mind. Most people take it as thou, they are mean and bitter.But we are very nice people when u get to know us and will do anything for a friend or family

Capricorns are serious & practical. If you know a Capricorn that is as you described, it's because their chart is afflicted. You are more than your sun sign. You can be a capricorn with other signs that make you very happy & optimistic. I have a Sun in Aries & moon in Capricorn. I'm a wild & crazy lady with a very serious practical side. i think it depends, i know many capricorns some exactly how you described and some the exact opposite. i think everyone can be a bit pessimistic and melancholy at times, it has nothing to do with your sign, but more to do with whats going on in your life at the time and how you cope with it...

Look, I think Capricorns are very responsible, hard workers, secretive, veryyyyyyyy stubbornnnn & take everything seriously...
but in the same time they have the leaders trait and so they have a good relationships, loyal, evaluate the family life.

can get me down - but the goat always plods on in the
uphill struggle called Life.
I am loyal, a good wife and mum. And would never
let my friends down.
