it`s a secret

A worthwhile pastime for some. Charities do very well from the Freemasons. I have seen first hand how much time and effort they go to, to raise money, and seen the children that benefit from it. Whilst not being a member,I have, on many occasions been to some of the lodges "Do's" as an invited guest.Contrary to what others say,the Freemasons is not so secret as it once was,in fact quite the opposite. Those involved are very dedicated to the "cause",but to others its, as you describe it...."a load of pants". Its not everyones cup of tea,but each to his own.
Reading some of the answer on here, its clear that most have not got a clue about the Masons!!!!!!!!!!!!

Freemasonry is an oath bound fraternal order of men which derives from the medieval fraternity of Freemasonry. We adhere to many of the Ancient Charges, laws customs and legends of operative Freemasonry. We are loyal to the civilian government under which we exist. We inculcate moral and social virtues by symbolic application of the operative stonemasons' working tools and by allegories, lectures and charges. Freemasonry obligates its members to obey the principles of brotherly love, equality, mutual aid, secrecy and confidence. We have secret modes of recognition that permit members to recognize each other as brothers. We require a through examination into the mental, moral and physical qualifications of a petitioner and we admit men into the fraternity by secret ceremonies based in part on legends of the Craft.

Once a person has decided to apply for membership he fills out a petition signed by 2 members of the Lodge he desires to join. He gives the petition to one of the men along with the required initiation fee. The petition is read at the next stated meeting at which the Worshipful Master will appoint an investigating committee to interview the petitioner in person. At the following stated meeting the investigating committee will report and the petition is voted on. by the members present. One the petition is accepted he will be given the 3 degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. There are certain requirements a candidate must meet before he can proceed from one degree to the next.

One must obtain the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason before being allowed to wear any Masonic jewelry. One must have a Belief in a Supreme Being. The tenets of the Masonic Fraternity are " Brotherly Love Relief and Truth. " The Masonic Fraternity is NOT Secret Society but rather a Society with Secrets.

Suggest if you are interested in pursuing interest in the Masonic Fraternity if over the age of 18 you contact a man whom you know to be a Mason for a petition and further details. If under the age of 18 suggest you inquire about the DeMolay Organization.

If no local Masonic Lodge is available then suggest you contact the Grand Lodge of Masons for the State in which you reside.

freemasonry needs to go away. not sure where to begin. i guess first, if its such a good organization, then why are all the windows blocked up? why the secret langauge? and why arent men of all creeds and religons allowed to join? and for that matter, women? and dont buy into that eastern star crap. as far as im concerened, its nothing but a cult that offers unfair advantages to its members. it says somewhere in the bible that no one man should ever bow to another man, yet they do. they are also a very racist organization, they talk of charities they contribute to, i can garauntee none of their contributions go to inner cities. the charities they do give to are all tax deductible, so go figure, they have to get a break somehow on all the money they pay taxes on. most law enforcement, polititions, heads of companies, etc are masons. you could have been a straight d student, but chances are that the dean of your school was a mason, and if you are one, there is a great paying job waiting for you somewhere. ever wonder why the kkk doesnt get bothered by the gov. but the mob does? italian/catholics cant join. sure, some have made their way in, but they are sell outs, to their people and religon. as far as i know, they lay claim to the arch and keystone, when julius ceaser invented that hundreds of years prior to the masons formation. im also pretty sure that the pope was the first grand mason, or whatever the top guy is called. so why no catholics allowed now? they claim its because of confession, why so secretive? if youll notice, no blacks are allowed, or jews. kkk are usually also masons, however they keep that hush hush. tell me if you ever see a guy wearing a masonic ring living in a dump, or driving a substandard car. they all look alike, truthfully, every mason i know looks like a hitler youth. and ive heard of masonic ties to hitler. god, i could go on and on, but all that i know, the masonic org. is a cult, and needs to be destroyed. as im sure this was all jumbled, and i definatly didnt write a first draft, i hope some of the things i said gives you things to think about. its a very touchy subject with me. i hope i live to see the day that all of their little temples are burned to the ground!

If you are actually going to put it's priciples into action, then its likely the most important decision you coud ever make. Freemasonry takes men and makes them better but it takes considerable action on the person to do the work.

If, on the other hand, one just joins and occasionally goes to meetings, Freemsonry will be nothing more than a social network. Not actually doing anthing with Fremasonry is a worthless endeavor.
