I recently got another two year contract with Sprint and am regretting every minute of it. I bought my phone at the local Radio Shack and was told that I would not be charged activation fees since I was already a customer. When I received my bill, I was charged the fee. I called the customer service dept. @ Sprint, who by the way are very rude, and told them my situation. They said there was nothing that they could do. Since then, I have had nothing but trouble with Sprint. I threatened to have it cut off, but it will cost me $300 for two phones. What would happen if I didn't pay my bill, had it cut off, but didn't pay the deactivation fees? Could I still get another cell phone with another carrier and would it go bad on my credit?

I would go to Radio Shack and see what they can do for you and ask to speak to the person you originally talked to. bring your bill with you. if nothing else, just cancel your plan. it wont effect your credit if you pay the $300. I asked about cell phones and credit when I got my first cell phone and they said having one does almost nothing for your credit so switching shouldnt hurt it either. if you dont pay then it probably will hurt your credit and you might not be able to get another phone plan, but I would just talk to them and tell them that you were given false information. my only question for you is why did you renew your contract if you knew how customer service was, bc I am sure you called them before. oh another idea is to ask to speak to a manager at sprint.

i'm an expert on this subject... if radio shack told you u could get out of the activation fee and you have written proof..go back to the store so they can solve the situation. mmm it'll cost u 400.00 bucks to get out of the contract..(not 300, it was raised last year) mmm yeah, they do charge an activation fee...if you cut if and you don't pay your bill it'll ruin your credit to the point all the other carriers will ask for a deposit...why? mm they take into account all your record, specially from other phone companies. mmm if you change carriers, and don't pay your bill you will get bad credit, and you'll regret the calls from collections..it does damage your credit because they have your social and it's associated to your account...
recommendation. mmm either stick with them for another 2 years... or cancel the lines...and pay the deactivation fees...
mmm i've been selling sprint for 4 years already, i've heard and have had customers with your situation...

If you don't pay, all your delinquent payments will go to collection - and you don't want that, as it will affect your credit negatively. Pay off your current bill, pay the disconnection fee, and move on. Cingular is great - I've had them for three years and never once had a problem!

you understand what? immediately i'm having a similar situation. i recognize their telephone yet hate their corporation and only a week in the past I were given a word putting forward if i do not pay its going to collections and that i will lose my huge style I say flow with some different person because this corporation its purely in a ploy to make better funds. i do not understand how you ought to pay yet take a check out Cricketwireless.
