My friend son met a girl who's a runaway. Her mom is a drug addict that birthed eleven children and three of them live with her. The girl's dad is in jail and the mom was recently released from prison.
The problem is that my friend's son is 26 yrs.,the young lady admitted that she lied when she said that she was 18 yrs. old. We recently found out that she's only 15 yrs. old and pregnant.
My bf is devasted and so is the son. I suggested that they go to
Family services, but they're scared that it will be reported to the police and he will go to prison for staturtory rape.I know that teenagers these days are a lot more developed than in my day and too often try growing up too fast.
The young lady's mom doesn't seem to care one way or the other if her daughter comes home or not. She's been away from home for 6 months, and not in school.
What should this family do?

It is much more important that this girl gets help now because she is pregnant. Your bf's son will have to be a responsible father to this child and it's also important that now his relationship to this girl is permanent. If she has the baby (and decides to keep it), she will forever be the mother of this daughter or son. This is not a small thing.
He's 28 and quite old, actually! He's old enough to see a lawyer about his rights and responsibilities. I don't know about Family Services - if they have lawyers who are available there, it's the same thing. Try to get a good lawyer but a Family Services lawyer would be experienced in matters like this.
The girl has to sign something admitting she lied about her age, I'm guessing. No matter what, it would protect your son in the future. Don't think that a scrap of paper with her signature is the same as something you do with a lawyer's advice. It isn't.
This young girl is not in school? Without a GED at least, she's going to have a tough time and your bf's son is going to have to step up to the plate and take charge of bringing stability to his child's environment. Who knows, things might work out for them. I strongly suggest marriage, though. Even if people complain about marriage, a single mother home is second best.

I can not really tell you what to do I mean the police may take into consideration that she lied about her age but they may not and throw him in jail and the girl being 15 that is not statatory rape it is child molesting which holds a larger jail sentence then staturatory rape does.

The girl could try going to social services and trying to get help but she should lie and say the father took off or she does not know who it is.

When it comes to school all I can say to do is try getting her mom to enroll her in school where you live or have her go get her GED or get home schooled.

He should go to prison. He should have found out about this girl before getting her pregnant. Ignorance is no excuse. The age difference between the two is appalling. He should be deeply ashamed of himself. The whole situation is disgusting.

The girl should admit to the police that she lied to your son's friend. However I think he will go to jail for rape even if she confesses that she tricked him into having sex with her. Tell her to put the kid up for adoption and kick her out of the house.

Their is only a 3 year difference in age, that is not illegal does he love her? He had sex with her so tell him to marry the girl to get her away from her mom and bad life. He messed up now he is going to be a daddy.
