i think its hard to say isnt it, i was 15 when a new hope came out and there was nothign like it at that time, now if ya look at it you can see the flaws, but at the time it was so far beyond anything else. ti was great fantasy and still is, teh story line is great, the moveis are great too, ive alwasy been a LOTR head tho too, wondereed why it took so long to make the movies, i think ive read the books a couple dozen times and teh books are jstu wonderful so are the movies, i think its ahrd to say which is better, enjoy both for waht thye are

Lord of the Rings over Star Wars any day. Star Wars is good if you are in the mood for that, but LOTR wins on many other factors. Star Wars is very samey, while LOTR is about many different things that make up the whole story. Star Wars is a series, while LOTR is an epic

Are you talking about Lord of the Rings? I don't know what SW is but I would take Lord of the Rings over that. This was a masterpiece.
Oh, you mean Star Wars? It's kind of good for kids as a fantasy movie. But Lord of the Rings is more for adults. Sorry.

LOTR!!!!!!
I'm sorry, but Star Wars' story is geared towards kids. The way it is laid out, the language used, the acting....I find it all terribly distracting. I mean, take away the special effects and in my opinion you are left with a weak story.
Lord of the Rings is well told. I mean, have you read the book??? A bit long in the tooth for someone who's never read that genre before BUT that man is a wordsmith with a great tale and Peter Jackson likes fantasy but he LOVES the story. It all comes together.

LOTR is miles better. It isn't about the fancy effects or the epicness (if that's a word!), although these elements are both obviously present. It actually has a story at its heart, a very human story.
In fact, best films in the world. FACT.

Their both great series of films. LOTR is swords and shields. Where as star wars is futuristic fighting with guns and lasers.
