Don't get a red devil, it's totally incompatible with african cichlids.

Powder blue cichlids (pseudotropheus socolofi) are best kept with other lake malawi african cichlids, specifically mbuna (and ideally, 1 male per 3+ females per species).

Mbuna are apt to kill each other if you have too small a tank (less than 55gal) or two small a group (keeping less than 6-8 of them).

Um I wouldn't think that would work too well. The Red devil will probably eat your power blues for lunch. How big is your tank? Cichlids need alot of space.... if they are in a confined space they will be prone to be territorial which will cause them to attack. Many cichlids will grow very large so you need to be careful and watch how many you place together. Good luck... maybe you should try a different pet store. The petsmart I work at would never give someone advice like that.... sorry about your difficulties

Dont do that!!
Then the red devil will likely kill all your fish. You need to be keeping your cichlids at the same agreesion level not mixing them up.
Go here http://www.aquariumlife.net/fishprof.asp and see which fish can be mixed with which.

Also fish killing other fish is just part of having them in some cases, you just have to learn a chemistry for your tank and see what works with what..it just takes time.

Goodluck!! = )

What size is your tank?
To tell you the truth any time you had those types of fish it will get ugly they are so mean and they keep getting worse as they get larger too.
I would not put anymore of those fish together..
You will end up with more dead fish sorry been there before..
Know I have fancy goldfish...
I have put to much money and time on other types as well...
It take a long time to get where you want..
Good luck

with cichlids there is always a chance one will eat the other, You can try it, but I would probably just stick to having one fish in the tank for now.
