I bought a 100 pack of blank memorex DVDs just before xmas...they have been working fine...but I just tried to burn off some files and they would not work....when you put the DVD in the drive it says "0 bytes of free space and 0 bytes available"....wierd...so are the DVD faulty?? Shoul I return them or is there some other problem? I thought it was the files at first...but they copied to my flash drive fine...I checked other DVDs in the pack and they all say the same for the file size...any ideas???

If they worked before..it's NOT the DVDs. Are you using a program or just XP or what? I've had similar issues w/ certain programs.

I know this may sounds silly but do you have burning software?

try burning a CD usually these are supported by Windows software, if this works then you could try DVD's again. If not then maybe your burner software isn't working or you do not have a DVD/ CD burner

As long as your machine is playing other dvds apart from those ones you bought then you can safely say that it is the blank ones that are probably duds. Check this though before returning to the store as they are likely to say this to you to avoid giving a full refund.

its not a DVD burner. Also, if you do buy a DVD burner in the future, make sure it is compatible with the disks you have. You have DVR+RW (is that a typo? did you mean DVD+RW?) . There are also DVD-RWs. Make sure the drive you get is compatible with both or at least the format you want.

You do have a CD/DVD reader/writer right? Make sure thats working first. If its not that, then I would return it.

Is it just those that crapped out?
Have you tried another brand, just to make sure your burner didn,t die.
