Blimey, what kind of poem are you writing that has the word pint in it? A sonnet of love perhaps? Allow me....

"My love overfloweth just like my pint
Your hair smells nice and so does my...."

Nah, doesn't work. There isn't anything that ryhmes. You need to go metric.

"My love overfloweth just like my half a litre
I like my beer but you are much sweeter"

Ta-da!

The Irish word 'caint' does not unfortunately rhyme with 'pint', as the 't' sound at the end of it is pronounced not 't' but 'ch'.

Likewise, lint, flint, bint and so on obviously don't rhyme with 'pint'.

As I see it, you have two options:

1. Change the word 'pint' to something else.

2. Don't bother trying to make the poem rhyme.

Good luck.

Pint--hmmm, harder than I thought it would be. Might, sight are close. I think I would rearrange the words so pint isn't on the end of the line. I am assuming your word has a long "i" like in tight.

The funny ones here are the ones telling you to rhyme with mint, tint, etc.

I guzzled a pint, felt a bit tight, called it a night!

If it's pint as in a drink, I can't think of an exact rhyme but you can do a slant rhyme that *almost* rhyme. Infinite or finite; night; sight, that sort of thing.

i would try two things re-arrange the words
i stood in the pint laden pub
so pint is not the rhyme word..or try mixing similar words..i picked up my pint..this had no point...and then l went on to pick up my..joint...er maybe not the best illustration..l mean of course a joint of beef...but you get my drift

Poetry allows a wide freedom of expression. It is called "poetic licence". Therefore, the suggested 'mightn't' is one solution. You might also concoct your own (new) words - they are called neologisms - for example the past tense of words like find, grind bind (and behind) to become fint, or grint and so on. They can even be the shortening of find-it, or grind-it, (like it's for it-is). Remember it is poetry you are composing, and the imagination is one of the many tools available to you. Enjoy !
