I thought ALL his other senses (apart from sight) were heightened, so would that not mean if he were hit by say a rolled up sock, it would feel like he was being hit by a fastball.

There are separate receptors in human skin for pain, heat, cold, slight touch, and strong pressure. Maybe Daredevil's pain receptors are normal, while the others are all more sensitive.

The first answerer has it right.

Pain is a different level of receptors that the brain interprets - apart from the five senses. Only the five information gathering senses are what has been heightened for Daredevil. So if he was hit by a rolled up sock, it'd feel like a rolled up sock. But if he were to sniff said rolled up sock after it's been used, then he would be dizzy from the fumes!
