Idoru is my favorite.

Also liked Burning Chrome, a collection of short stories.

Where does he rank? Hard to say. As a writer, his prose is good but not revolutionary. As a scientist, he's actually a bit weak. As a futurist he's quite good. I think you'd have to rank him in the top 25 most influential Sci-Fi writers, certainly top 50.

I don't know Gibson - what has he written? I tend to stick with a few tried and few faves: Asimov, Butler, Ellison...

Neuromancer is the only title of his I read. I'm not all that impressed. He just didn't make me buy into his vision.
