A generation is defined as the average time between parents and offspring, It now averages 23.4 years. It is always changing depending on what nation you are talking about but it is getting later and later in developed nations because of the cost and both parents working. Sorry but I don't know about developing nations. I searched for "average age of parents" to get my information on developed nations.

My grandmother who is still alive is 96 now. I have had great aunts who have lived to be 99 and 100 years old, truly. Many in my family are long livers on my father's side of the family. I don't know much about my mother's family except her mother died of a pulmonary embolism at 77 and my grandfather died of bone cancer at 80.

I would say 80 years now with all the medical treatments we have now.
