Firstly it not as far away as that. Both NASA and the Russian academy of science have warned of a dramatic climate cooling towards the end of this century. As to what the committee will do - well they will keep warm, cosy, and well fed. They are bureaucrats!

It may not be thousands of years away. An ice age is normally preceded by accelerated warming, melting of the ice caps, then a peculiar shift in the earth's axis due to redistribution of mass.

We may be closer than you think.

I think we should just keep consuming our resources as if they were inexhaustible, and polluting with utter indifference.

I am supremely confident we will come up with a brilliant last minute plan to save ourselves if we are wrong, just like in all the movies. Of course we aren't wrong, everything is fine. All those scientists are liberal tree huggers funded by the Clintons, Algore, and that one guy Michael Savage doesn't like.
