I'd say depends on your age. Until about 25 or so (longer for some people) we get blinded by what we think is love, but in reality is not the kind of love that sustains a marriage. Your parents are older, have seen more, and are probably more intuitive than you. Maybe they see something in this guy that you're too blinded by love/lust to see. For instance, one of my younger sisters is engaged to a real jerk who is very controlling. She can't see it, but the rest of us can. She makes excuses for him. You've got to follow your heart, yes, but let your head make some decisions too.

You have to ask yourself which is more important, marrying the person you love or making your parents happy. It seems that a lot of parents don't like the person their child picks to marry. What you have to do is think whether this love is worth the stress.

You need to decide if you want to get married not your parents.
Ask them why they dont want you to marry him..maybe they have investigated his background and found some scary stuff lol Im just kidding but you never know, your parents might have some valid reasons for not wanting you to marry him.

If your over 21 don't worry about your parents. Its your life. If a person over age is worried about there parents they don't need to be marry anyhow. There still scared of mommy and daddy. That there going to get in trouble or speak. Don't marry if your still a kid inside. You not ready to be someone wife/husband. Stay toon, in be there little baby still.

That's not a question but I think I know what you're getting at. I say who cares what your parents think. If they don't love you enough to accept who you choose to marry, then let them live in their snooty little life and live your own.

If my husband listened to his mother and I listened to my mother, we wouldn't be married with two beautiful children and still in love after many years. If you are in love with this person and they are in love with you and you want to get married, what is stopping you? As long as you are an adult it is your decision. Life is what you make it.
