Hello Gemma.
It depends on what kind of accomodation you're after.
They are very basic, and if I am perfectly honest, there are much nicer places to stay, but if you've got a good deal and you know that they are basic and you know they are definitley "no frills" then all you can do is give tham a go. I'd say they were most suited to a younger group not looking for anything fancy on a budget.

April will be quiet- even in Magaluf. The resort doesn't really come out of hibernation until May/June time, although there are quite a few places open in April- especially around Easter there may be a little flurry of activity.

The location of the Sotovento could be better. They are on the hill at Torrenova, although just about 500m from the beaches and around 300 to the nightlife. Its just that that road is dark at night so be careful.
It's not a huge complex, but there is a pool and a sun terrace- although the weather in Majorca is changeable at that time and it may not be sunbathing weather perse. But if you get a sunny day and you find a sheltered spot it will be ok by the pool.

Good luck!
