Is it possible for a computer hacker or spy etc.to read documents that are saved on a pc?

No, they are not "safe".

Hackers can come in any time they like, as long as they have chosen you as their victim.

Your BEST bet is to save them to a disc, and erase from your computer.

If you have anything OTHER THEN dial-up, your computer can be hacked at any given time, EVEN WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF, cause the www is always on.

Yes. If the PC is hooked up to the net than you could get a rootkit or other malicious software that can send hackers your info.

Even if not hooked up to the net a hacker could gain access to your computer and physically copy the data to a removable disk drive.

The only way to be 100% safe from hackers is to not have an Internet connection.

Yes it is possible. To insure your files are safe use a feature in microsft word to add a password to it.
Go to TOOLS
Then click on OPTIONS
Then click on SECURITY

If your PC is connected to web there is possibility that it will happen! Even if you got good antivirus!!
