It starts with what your interests are and ends with trial and error. Don't get discouraged unless the errors keep coming.
Be sure to read up on your interests. Seek out people with similar interests. Spend time with them and ask them how they got started. Most will love the opportunity to share their story. Finally, if still interested, ask if they can show/teach you.

If you can't get an aptitude test from a school counselor and if you are older, then try a little bit of everything and judge for yourself. Don't let others define what you are good at. Try anything that interests you. Good Luck! @8-)
