did your system come with a recovery disk? if it did, scan all of the items you want to keep with your virus software, copy them to some external location (flash drive, external hard drive, dvd, ...whatever) and then insert and run the system recovery disk.
this will completely erase the hard drive and install all of the original software that your computer came with from the store.
The geek squad are morons and crooks. whenever you take a computer to them, their solution is always to recover the computer. Don't pay those clowns to do that when you can do it yourself.

Your system seems to be using way too much system resources. Here's what to do: A. Boot into Safe Mode, then run your virus scan program. B. Backup all your personal files first! C. Cleanup your computer. 1. Clear all browser caches. 2. Empty Recycle Bin. 3. Use your Disk Cleanup. 4. Remove old programs that you don't use 5. Defrag your hard drive. Try the above, then see how your system reacts. You don't want to do a System Recovery or reformat your hard drive just because your computer needs a cleanup.

Well first off, I'm no computer whiz,
but this is what I do when I had my older computer:
Delete my cookies (tools, internet options, delete browsing history button)
Run a disc clean up (accessories, system tools, disk clean up)
Run a defrag overnight (accessories, system tools)
Then turn off the computer for a few minutes and restart if it didn't do it already.
You may just need more memory if you have an old computer.
Also go to My Computer/Add Remove Programs and delete any unnecessary programs you have too.

shame on you for even calling the geek squad! All they are people who couldnt start their own IT business or couldn't get a corporate job. If you want it repaired find a local person someone recommends.
you probably need to do an XP repair to fix the errors.

close out of the Internet. Remove your spyware as they overwork your hard drive during reformatting.
1) Reformatt
2) Load microsoft updates
3) Load your desired programs
4) Load Adaware and registry mechanic and run them
5) Load your Spyware
Get used to reformatting
I only use Adaware to remove AND NOT quaranteen

Best Buy has pretty good service, I've been there a few time for their tech support.
But I've also been here, this place is free.
