For starters, you have to keep him from becoming dehydrated.... Get some Pedialyte popscicles. They work great, my daughter is 16 and I still keep them in the house for when she is sick. Next, get some coke syrup - any drug store will have it. Pour a small amount over ice chips and give to him in a sippy cup. This will help with the nausea. Another good one to try is ginger ale - for some reason, it always helps to settle the stomach.

Good luck.. Hope he feels better soon.

Here's a homemade pedialyte recipe (to counteract dehydration):

1 quart water
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 Tbsp. sugar

* Optional:
1/2 pack any flavor Kool Aid (no sugar added) or to taste
1/4 tsp. salt substitue (for potassium- sold as NuSalt)

Recipe

Heat up a small amount of the water and dissolve all other ingredients in it.
Add remaining water and stir well. Keep in refridgerator.

NO mik.

Try bananas, toast. I would always give my son stage 2 babyfood because it was easy to eat.

If he is unable to keep anything down, do a teaspoon of water every 1/2 hour. When he is able to eat, do a BRAT diet fro 24 hours, BANNANAS, RICE, APPLESAUSE, and TOAST. If he is unable to keep those teaspoons of water down, and hasn't urinated, he should go in to the hospital. My soon, at three, had to get an I.V., which, I was scared of, but he was so sick, he didi'nt care he was being poked. Within 1/2 hour, he was fine. They bounce back so quickly.
