I work for my former Chief of Police. My job is to make his life easier by doing most of what he did before I went to work there.
My main function is as follows:
Jump to Conclusions- this is making decisions without any real information.
Monday Morning Quarterback-again without having been there, to jump all over the decisions made by field officers under the stress of the moment. This usually takes hours of thinking before telling the field cops "you did this wrong" even though I may not have a correct solution myself.
Snap Decisions-this involves somewhat the same skills as jumping to conclusions only this is usually done when the person is angry, so it is even stupider!
Things like this pretty much tie up my day, so I have little time for actual planning, or intelligent decision making... but who needs that as a Chief of Police anyway, do as I do, not as I say has always been his motto.

I'm in middle management in a large corporation. Being as I don't know your qualifications, I can say whether you could or not. You would need a background in HR, Accounting, Leadership, and Management and the ability to understand several employee collective agreements. If you said yes to all of them, then yes you could do my job.

Anybody could do my job you just have to be able to handle highly expensive breakable items and not drop them or break them. You also have to be able to put up with some very rude people who think that you can carry 6 or 7 breakable items at once and not have any of them break.

Can you wipe people's bottoms in every state you can imagine?
Can you stand being hit, sworn at, beaten up and just smile?
Can you take orders from people who think you're their slave?
Can you walk at full pelt for seven hours at a stretch?
Can you serve meals to people whose table manners would disgust a baby?
Can you stand watching people you care about deteriorate and die, sometimes in your arms and then have to go on caring for the others knowing that its coming to them too?
Can you do all this, love it, and go running for more in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on what shift you're on and do it for minimum wage?

If you can answer yes to all the above then you too can be a carer.

You would need both innate talent/skill and a heck of a lot of specialized training, but you could probably do a bad job of it ...as long as you didn't charge much... you could probably skate by.

People just want it cheap these days. Doesn't have to be good.
