Just listen to the beat of the music and let it guide you. If you have completely no rhythm then look at the other people around you and copy. If you're lucky enough to find a girl who'll let you grind on her then you've got it made as that's basically just one motion, plus she won't be watching you dance. Have a couple drinks as soon as you get there, that'll help a lot with your confidence. Good luck!

The best way to learn anything is by imitation.

I recommend you stand back and observe for five maybe ten minutes, maybe stand by the bar with a drink so as not to look conspicuous. Just take it all in and watch how the other people in the club are acting.

Once you get an idea of how everyone else is dancing you can start working on your own style.

As far as getting over your fear is concerned, I'd say have a couple drinks before you start, this will help you loosen up some. Just dont over do it, no one likes a drunk.

It's too late for this time, but for next time...try to go to a large club with a huge dancefloor first. You are less likely to stick out in such a big venue, so if you do make a fool of yourself, it's less likely for anyone to notice. But just feel the music and do whatever. Once you find your signature movements, just work from there. After a couple hours, you may be ready to show off your new moves the next time you go to a smaller club.
When I first started going to clubs I went to these small teen clubs. I never danced cause of the same fears you have and in such a small venue, people will notice if your dancing bad or not. Then once I got old enough, I started to going to the epic size clubs in NYC. That's where I finally started experimenting with dance moves. Within two years I was good enough to battle in the circles formed on the dancefloors. I never would've thought I'd be doing that back in the high shool teen club days. Good luck!

Just let the beat flow, and your body will follow as for a girl on the dance floor go up behind her and dance and if she's into it well you'll find out and if she's not better say oh sorry thought you were a friend.

You're cute lol. I'd say don't think to much and if you can't control your liquor don't drink too much, you don't wan't to make a fool out of yourself. Just do the rockaway homey, don't forget, gangstas don't dance...
