Hello. I took the SAT in 7th grade for the Duke TIP Program, and if you are of that age I definitely recomment you take the SAT or ACT that is sponsors. In the future, the TIP program sends you booklets about college, etc. and will invite you to their great summer programs they have in colleges around the U.S. or you could choose to study out of the country. They also have some weekend courses throughout the year that they offer. It's a great oppurtunity and a great thing to put on your resume.

I myself was chosen for this program. If a child scores a high test score (I believe it was a 98 or above) on the ITBS or other standardized test, they qualify for this program which allows them to take the SAT at this age. Taking part in this program may give your child an advantage when applying to Duke. At my school, we took prep classes once a week after school and then took the SAT, there were two dates to choose from to take the exam.
