here is a great websight: http://www.axolotl.org/feeding.htm

And this is what it said about mealworms:

I've fed mealworms to my axolotls, but the chitin (the protein that makes up the hard exoskeleton in insects) is undigestible to the axolotls. Even though I didn't feed many, the filter in-take actually started to clog with little pieces of chitin and I was still picking bits of chitin out of the filter media months afterwards. Apart from this little inconvenience, they're not a complete food, so I would only recommend them as a treat.

They can eat most types of worms, including blood and tubifex worms, so I believe they can

Mealworms have little nutrients in them and are high in fat, so they should only be fed as a part of a diet, not the whole diet.
He can also eat brine shrimp and tubifex worms.

Axolotls can eat meal worms but they do prefer small earthworms. Take my word for it my friend had one many years back. If you need to check ask any vet.

it depends it is it older than 18 months? if it is then it will be fine but if younger then cut the meal worms head off cos they tend to bite the inside of the stomach if not chewed properly

I don't know the answer but I can tell you something else very interesting about apostrophes.

There are two uses for an apostrophe.
1) Possession
2) Contraction (missing letters)

There are NO other uses.

Therefore, Axolotyl when made plural, does not require an apostrophe. Just because you add an S doesn't mean you need one!
