The problem is...
simplify:
-9 + (-5) j + 3 + (-2) j

I got -13j , I don't need to know the answer I just need to know if I got the wrong answer

No. It's -7j - 6. You see, you can only combine "like Terms" -- add the numbers with j's and then those without.


Look, I don't know what the others are talking about. You cannot combine all those numbers. I'm in calculus, so I should know.

Remember, you have a variable in your equation. 2 apples plus 3 oranges does not equal 5 apples. It equals 2 apples plus 3 oranges.

-9 - 5j + 3 -2j

3 - 9 - 5j - 2j

-6 -7j This is the answer

By double checking the math problem you will either get the same answer twice or you won't. If you do, the answer is most likely correct. If you don't get the same answer do the problem one more time and see what you get then. If all else fails, call a friend and ask.
