A friend wants me to do a spread sheet for a day care … it should take about 2 hours. What is a fair amount I could charge for this?

As a business person, your friend should expect to pay for services that are going to benefit her/his company. Since it is a simple project, I would suggest setting one amount for the whole job, instead of hourly. Decide what you think it is worth. As a business person myself, I would expect to pay $40-50 (to hire someone who is not a friend would cost a good bit more!).

If you're thinking of charging her she might as well do it herself. But i guess if you really feel you need to be compensated $10 would be fair............a thank you should do though if shes a friend

I would say ten bucks an hour. $20.00!! If she doesn't want to spend that kind of money then she can do the spreadsheet herself.

Instead of cash, how about she buy you lunch or something. Cash just seems so cold between friends.

Nothing if she is your friend. Creating spreadsheets is a piece of cake.
