Low on anti-freeze? Don't wait, get it checked out by a mechanic or you'll have more seriou problems.

When was the last time you checked your fluid level. I know it used to be that if your water pump went bad, it would start leaking immediately. It may still be that way.

I assume you have coolant. Going into red repeatedly may cause engine damage. Recommend taking car to reputable mechanic ( not your brother ) and having it checked out.

Have you checked to see if there is any fluid in your radiator? If you don't have any fluid then it would cause what you are saying.
