I'm sorry if i sound mean but am just being realistic. I have encouraged him in many ways, done things to show that i am a true friend who cares and besides he wanted me to ask the question exactly the way i did.

You don't. Let the sleeping dogs lay. You're not responsible for his happiness. Happiness comes from within. If he can't find it within himself, he won't find it anywhere else because he does not want to find it. Happiness is all about perception. We can make ourselves happy by changing our perception of things to focus on the positive. Obviously, this guy is getting a pay off from being miserable. Apparently, he seems to continue beign miserable because it makes people pity him.

I always try to look on the bright side of things. For instance, it could always be worse. Usually it starts as a joke, I say "Hey, it could be worse, it could be my problem!" Really , though. You made no mention of physical disabilities or limitations. This is a serious leg up on some people.
Could there also be a substance abuse problem? A good number of broke, unskilled and unemployed types are that way due to their own doing.
Or if this individual just happened to skate through life and suddenly was confronted with the fact that he needs to be able to take care of himself, he may have a fairly long road ahead of him.
He may have to face up to the fact that it may be time to grow up. A man's destiny generally involves being self-supporting, at the very least and capable of sustaining a household a bit later.
If you spend most of your life being a hustler, and you run out of scams, it may be time to toe the line and rejoin the rest of us punching the clock and improving ourselves through schooling. An able-bodied man should be able to do something to earn a living, and I'm sure any counselor for hardship / financial aid would ask "What have you done for the last few years?"
As far as suicidal tendencies go, he may need to realize that if he gives up today, tomorrow won't be better, because he wouldn't be there to see it. If he is that much of a burden, someone else would surely waste him, eventually.

Get him to start working out with you and if he's young, it's not hard or shameful to work for fastfood restaurants, I always have money now cause I work at McDonalds. A lot of people don't need much skill for that. Doing community service makes people happy also if he wanted to look into that and it can make u realize how good u have it. Hope this helps?

You don't sound very nice. Maybe you could try being a real friend to this person and not refer to him as ugly with no skills. Everyone can do SOMETHING and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe you should try to help this person discover what he's good at. This might boost his confidence. In the mean time, you need to check yourself.

He's broke because he has no skill and he's unemployed. He needs training for a job. Nobody is slightly suicidal, he's depressed and needs help for that.

have him do something thats important to him, if he's unemployable, there has to be somthing seriously wrong , but you are being a friend, and thats what people need the most during their time of need, so do what you can for him. and dont let him commit suicide, thats the wussy way out, dont tell him the negative, always tell him the positive, and tell him never give up, and keep the faith. faith is very important.....
