I have to say i really am afraid of them. Within my lifetime they'll be challenging the USA to be the great power, and there could be any number of flash points : Taiwan, dominance of Asian trade, and the ongoing row they've got with japan. If you think I'm being melodramatic, consider that the people who ordered the Tienanmen square massacre are still in power ,and showing no signs of relinquishing a single iota of control.

No. They are moving more towards capitalism with every new 5-year plan. Their economic reforms have opened the country up more than ever. Another 20 years and they'll be a strong, mostly-capitalist country. Perhaps even an ally. The old communist hard-liners are old. They'll die soon and the new pro-capitalist will come into power.
With economic freedom, comes social freedom.
We need to set our sights on being able to complete with China and work with them in a positive way. We don't have to fight everyone.

Well I can see that they are generally opposed to any plans America has and they are very allied to Russia. I think that if China wanted, they could pose a giant of a problem to us.

let me think about this do you mean china or chinese? i certainly don,t like some chinese food and i am not sure whether i like some of the chinese motives what i really don,t like is that china is becoming a major threat to the world peace situation is ther some under lying current i ask do you

China is not afraiding. The chinese have the power to control their country and it is growing. This is not afraiding at all.
