It means significantly above average. (100 is average.) But keep in mind, IQ only measures the kind of reasoning ability the creators of the test think significant. It doesn't measure artistic intelligence, emotional intelligence, etc.
But anyway, for you, an IQ of 121 means you're probably going to be taking advanced placement classes, etc.

Here's an IQ to percentile chart from my website:
IQ used to mean a ratio compared to somebody older, but now it is a number on a curve, with 100 being average, and 15 being one standard deviation above or below average on a normal curve. 120 puts you in the top 10%. That's usually good enough to get an A, or make you in the top 2 or 3 smartest kids in a class of 30, or maybe a state university. If you want to get into Harvard or MIT, you'll have to be in the top 1% or so, and that's an IQ of 136 or higher.

The IQ (intelligence quotient) score is a ratio between what's called your "mental age" (the age your mind operates at) and your "chronological age" (your age). It is calculated like so: mental age / chronological age * 100 = IQ The average IQ for any tested population is 100. An IQ of 100 means that your mental age and chronological age are one and the same. A 14-year-old with a 149 IQ has a mental age of about 20.86. See how this works? When you say "that's pretty high, especially for a Jr. High student," you're partially wrong. When you get an IQ test, you are not tested against every person in the world. You are tested against other kids your age who have taken the same test. That's called standardization. But, you are also partially right in saying that an IQ of 149 is "pretty high." This is why. After a population has been tested, the mean (average) is set to 100 with one standard deviation being about 15. Approximately 68% of the population falls within one standard deviation (100 ± 15) of the scores, while 95% of the population falls within two standard deviations (100 ± 30). In other words, the test does not determine your IQ - other people who take the same test do. The test is just a way of measuring your percentile relative to other people. An IQ of 149 means you're in the 99.9th percentile. Or something like that. Something remarkably high. That means you have a higher IQ than 99.9 percent of the population. IQ, however, is not a measure of academic intelligence. If it was, you'd be some sort of academic wunderkind. Some people think it's a measure of what's called the g factor, or general intelligence. Others think that IQ tests measure a completely separate intelligence all on its own. Others, like me, think that IQ is complete BS because we believe in multiple intelligences. So, whatever you believe, take it with a pinch of salt. And, to answer your last question (in case you haven't gotten it yet), an IQ of 149 is amazing. Genius-level. Hope this helps!

121 is slightly above average; it's a good IQ. Please do not pay too much attention to IQ tests. Just focus on what you like and do it well. Don't let some random test determine what direction you take in life.

It means nothing. Don't take the results of an IQ test seriously until you are 18. Your IQ will constantly change, but 18 is a standard test taking time.

iq stands for intelligence quotient...it's a theoretical measurement of how smart you could be...in other words, it's your intelligence potential and that potential can change up or down through your life...121 for a 13 year old is good, but not very accurate...you may be a very smart 13 year old, but when you get to be an adult you may have already reached your potential
