The planet has been warming up since the last ice age. It's part of a regular cycle and has nothing to do with man's activities. BTW hasn't anyone noticed that a large part of California's citris crop froze this year. Call Al Gore with this "Inconvenient Truth".

The reason so much has been written about "global warming" is simple. First, a few scientists write about it being a "possible problem". Next, they get government funding to study the matter and no surprise, they "discover" it's a very real problem. Then the media climb on board to fill the vacuum of their papers and evening news. This is followed by more government funding, more studies, etc, ad infinitum.

The only folks left "out in the cold" (couldn't resist a pun), are you and I, the taxpayers who are the Convenient Victims.

Any real polution is going on in 3rd World countries, anyway. We cleaned up our act long ago. And guess what; the 3rd World nations were exempted from the Kyoto Treaty. We were 100% right not to ratify such a screwy deal.

People need to get their heads out of the sand. How much evidence do people need that global warming is happening? Over 900 peer-reviewed articles (ie., their work gets highly scrutinized by other scientists in their field..I should know, I've gone through it myself) on global warming, and not ONE has claimed any doubt that it's occurring. Yet, over 50% of the media coverage (which gets no scrutiny whatsover before publishing, and doesn't require anyone publishing to actually have any science education before reporting on it) suggests their is doubt. And that's who the average American seems to believe. Truly sad.

But do you really need scientists to tell you that the weather we are used to is changing? Or that the air we breathe is getting more unpleasant as the years go by? Do any of you recall having yellow and red air quality alerts when you were a kid? Doesn't take rocket science, or global warming science, to see that something isn't right. And anyone who's gotten a whiff of exhaust would be hard pressed to claim that they are OK with all that crap going into the air they breathe. I mean really, we all know not to breathe it inside an enclosed space...because it will kill us. But millions of people's exhaust outside is fine?

People in this country, and all over the globe, sure are paying, and paying dearly. Smog that causes asthma, heat waves that kill hundreds of people, stronger storms that destroy homes and take lives, storms showing up in places they normally don't (like freezing in California, and hurricanes in South America...which never happened until two years ago). And yet, we are more attached to our gas-guzzling cars, and "business as usual" than we are to our health, and the health of our families and future generations. Where are our priorities people?!

Al Gore has been nominated for the Nobel Prize because he is bringing this issue to light on a global scale, and people are listening. It's just the U.S. and China that have been hesistant to listen... because of course, it's "inconvenient". Thankfully, a change is in the air...

I hope Gore wins the Peace Prize and the Oscar for his fine work educating people on Global Warming. He is a great man.

i think he made a lot of people aware of climate change. He took a serious issue and helped to make it mainstream. Whether you like his politics or not you can't argue that.
