Can I try replacing my in-tank fuel pump by going through the floor in from the back tail gate..?

you can try that but if not you have to take the whole gas tank off

this is a tip:

replace the whole
Fuel Tank Sending Unit
it comes with a new pump filter and a float
it's a lit more but it's worth it in older cars and truck and SUV

The last 3 or 4 I did, I lifted the rear of the body off of the frame(loosened all but the very front body mounts.) That way you don't have to remove the lines from the sender. You'll end up dropping the tank to do it if you don't have a hoist.

Tank has to come out.
