First check to see if you have any white spots on the back of your tongue. This is a good indication you have strep throat and need to see your Dr. If you do not and the back of your throat is only red and irritated looking try a Rose Hips tea with milk, honey and mint. It's a bitter drink but it is very soothing for sore throats. I know cool drinks feel great as they are going down but try to stick with warm teas for a bit.
Good Luck and if it doesn't get any better after a couple of days go to the Dr.

Gargle with warm water with a pinch of salt, then have some hot tea with honey and lemon, and get some Halls Fruit Breezers, they are really good tasting without that menthol taste.

Yes check out strep
Drinking lots of water in itself is one of the possible symptoms of diabetes but does not sound like it applies in this case.
More probable is that the muscles are being aggravated by being tight. There is a book our library has (or is $20.00 in a bookstore) called The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It is the short version (easy to understand) on how muscles refer pain from one place to another and how to make it stop.

Go to the doctor ASAP!!!!!!!!!
You could have strep throat.
Which is not only very contagious
It may lead to shock, multisystem organ failure, and death.
gargling with warm saltwater (1/4 teaspoon of table salt in 8 oz. warm water) can help relieve throat pain.

Gargle warm salt water...I know that it sounds silly, but try it. Also, take a flashlight and look at the back of your throat. If it is covered with white slimy stuff...go see a dr. you have Step.

Try having a go at gargling with warm water and salt once or twice a day. If that does not work, go and see your doctor.
