Computers. I can't turn off my computer when I click on the turn off button but I can hibernate.
Is this the same as turning it off?
When I try to restart it doesn't work either and sometimes I need to do this when I have updated.
I am turning it off manually at the moment. I'm sure there must be a simple way to fix this....I just don't know how. HELP!!!!!

I know how to press the computers button to turn it off ...I'm not that stupid.
I just want to know why it won't turn off when I click onto the "turn off" button. I hibernate by pressing the "shift key and pressing the "standby" button.

It is not the same as you will need to HOLD the power button for 5-10 seconds for it to shut off completely.

Hibernation is a power saving mode to keep the computer using lower power while you do other things

Click Start, click Shut down. That should do it. A computer never completely turns off unless you manually press the off switch.
