Christmas songs.. lullabys, and slow romantic songs. I learned some with basic picking on the 4th 5th 6th strings. usually you can have a good range for enough melodies with those strings.
One that i always play accompanied by a MIDI shoved in to GarageBand(macos x), with the melody part taken out. is "Somos novios" from armando manzanero. This song is als o sung by that guy from europe that sings opera and romantic songs( Andrea Bocceli)

'Smoke on the Water'. Guitar was the hardest instrument just because it HURTS my fingers. My husband plays a mean guitar (Christian old rock and roll) and his fingers are numb. Good luck!

there are lots of easy songs that only use 3 chords. there is a website which teaches u how to play songs step by step. ill give it to u when i find it. try time of your life by green day
