Ok, first of all, as a life long resident of Washington State, I am highly offended. LOL But to answer your question, NO. Washington is one of the most beautiful states in America. We have mountains, desert, ocean views, TONS of outdoor activities, great food, wineries, great schools, the highest minimum wage in the country, the best coffee and micro-brewed beer you'll ever find (ever heard of Starbucks or Red Hook?) close to Canada for the great Canadian shopping discount...I could go on and on. Also Bellingham (where I live) is one of the top rated towns to live in. Give Washington a chance!

That's the most bizarre question I've seen on here and I've seen plenty. Let's see... Seattle, major hub. Tacoma, major city. Military installations, excellent hospitals, good schools, INCREDIBLE wines... anything from the Willamette Valley is WAY more than drinkable... can you say "Pinot Noir"? What about "Riesling"? Some of the best in the country come from Washington State.

Port Orchard, one of the prettiest and friendliest cities on the west coast... look around the state... wait until you get there to judge the place. Reasonable cost of living, moderate climate, enough rain to make everything green all the time and grow some of the best produce in the country. Culture galore readily available and small towns with beautiful scenery to boot. I'd love to live there... tried twice while the ex was in the Navy... never made it but had pictures, a real estate agent waiting in the wings and a friend who did tours and took video for us.

You lucky man, you are about to live my dream...

Boy are you guys some sheltered small town hicks! Seattle, the hub of Adobe,Microsoft, Boeing and many others? The multicultural example to the rest of the nation? Hot bed of art, music, culture? Washington, home to some of the best climbers, mountaineers, skiiers, bikers, people who are redefining the very meaning of the sports? Shall I go on or have I lost you to Jerry Springer? Do us a favor and maybe try California. They're all going to Washington to become white trash. You idiot.

No! You have the power to protect yourself. Build an imaginary trash detractor - mostly by trying to keep and open mind and remembering who you are regardless of geography!

good luck!
