Is there any way to avoid the major traffic jam on the I-15 by taking an alternative DRIVING ROUTE?

There aren't many alternates. And the alternates would add too much driving time to make them worth it.

From LA to Barstow the only alternate is through Big Bear and up CA-18. This route adds two hours to your driving time in comparison to going up I-15.

From Barstow to Las Vegas the only alternate is I-40 east to US-95 N (to US-93 N to I-515 N). This route also add two hours in comparison to going up I-15.

Your best bet is using I-15 and avoiding major traffic periods. It's a major highway and it's nearly a direct route from LA.

of course, alternative route mean longer distance added to your driving, are you willing to sacrifice that? If you drive off hrs, the traffic will most likely not be as much.... leave early or drive way later..
