How would you react if your one true love was either 40 years older or younger?

now were not talking about the average girlfriend/boyfriend were talking about the one that your MEANT to be with,

1. Would you be with that person (if you and they were above 18)
2. Would you simply not be with that person because they are so old/young
OR
3. (any other reason that you wouldn't be with them)

no, its nothing about sex, would you be with them, i didnt mean would you have sex with them, i meant it as would you "be" with them as in live with them because they were your one true love

It would depend on the person.

My late husband was 30 years older than I was.....he had already lived a lifetime and sometimes thought of me as childish.

I was 19 - 33 - I had some growing to do......it put distance between us. I stayed with him and loved him, but I fell out of love with him.

No - 40 years difference is too much now (I am 47 - he would be 87)

My last g/f was 20 years older and we looked close in age that didnt matter but she was stacked like a brick sh_it house and I was 28 fit as can be we dated for 3 years the best friend I have ever had (female) But we were going in different directions in life she was done working and I wanted to work for a few more years maybe till I was 40 or so no longer so now im looking for someone who still wants to work but noone who has to work ..... I have the money and she had better have money ... no kids either

I'm going to be a party pooper and say that I don't believe there is one person you are meant to be with.

If there were, you'd be with them no matter what....perhaps they'd have to stalk you, but you wouldn't have a choice.

I can't think of any reason to be with (sexually) someone that much older or younger than me. Yuck! I'd either be grossed out by their wrinkles or freaked about them seeing mine.

EDIT: I mentioned sex because why wouldn't you have physical love with your "one true love?" What kind of love would it be otherwise? I'll tell you - it would be a friendship. I'd be friends with someone that much older or younger, but even if they arrived with PROOF that they were my destiny, I'd send them packing.

3. I would not be with that person because I know my "one true love" is my age, so we can move thru life together and on the same page. So when we talk about specific years from the past we can relate. When we talk about growing old we will do so at the same pace.

It would be difficult to find true love in someone with a 40 year age gap.. its a totally different generation.. The way of thinking is different, interests are different... they just wont click.. but if it did happen... then why stop in the way of love!

if they were 40 yrs older then i yes i would be with them cause i know it won't be for long due to him having one foot in the ground already

If I was attracted to them then I would be with them. But that's a big difference as far as apperance....and I would think my preference would not be them.

yes if i loved him and found him attractive. my last boyfrind was 17 years older then me and we worked great together. im 22 and he is 39.

Wouldn't bother me if they truly were my one true love. But i can't see it happening. ; )
