I have a cold and the only liquor I have in the house is Chardonnay, and I am too down in the weather to go out and get anything else.

I wouldn't use chardonnay...It will taste gross.

Tea with lemon and honey will work just as well. The only reasn you put the brandy in it to complete the Hot Toddy is to make you sleepy. Take some benadryl or other nighttime cold medicine and drink the tea with lemon and honey and it will have the same effect.

Hope you feel better.

You couldn't make a hot toddy with Chardonnay. If you have a cold, don't drink wine, drink orange juice if you have it.

Technically, wine is not good for you when you have a cold, as it depresses the immune system. On the other hand, I am a big fan of a hot bath, a good book, and a glass of wine. It may not cure you but it will make you feel a little happier about being sick!

Do you really believe that putting alcohol in your blood will help? If you were born with alcohol in your body from birth it might help but since your don't have it naturally occurring in your body, it will most likely slow down the healing process. Since you are sick and lack energy to think, call a friend to help you through this rough spot.

Nope, sorry. It has to be a stronger spirit, like whiskey. A wine is not strong enough. Have someone go pick it up for you, and bribe them if you have to. 80 proof at least!

Not really. But you could drink the whole bottle and pass out for a few hours.
