I was hooked in the beginning, but as I got deeper into the series, I noticed that the stories were no longer told from Dr. Scarpetta's point of view? Why change a good thing? I enjoyed those books a lot less, and I'm sure many other readers feel the same way. It's like she was just writing to fulfill a contract or something, and her characters lost their depth. Any thoughts?

Its easier to right in third person....If Dr S is the narrator then Cornwell can only relate to you the read what Dr S sees with her own eyes ....or what someone tells her..... Now she can put you in Lucy's mind and let us see things from her point of view ......It give the author more freedom....its less restrictive ......

bye the way....good call....I've read all the books in that series and I didn't notice the change until you mentioned it

Presumably she thought she could do a better job from the THIRD person point of view (NOT 2nd person.) She could tell the readers some things that Scarpetta wouldn't know.....
