Heaven
Golden harps glistening in the rays of light
spilling forth across the pink streaked sky
painted in the softest shades of purple
Majestic angels gracefully floating
over clouds of white
their robes and ribbons
floating across long dark
hair and halos sitting
above the head as a heavenly crown
sounds of soprano praises lifted on high
drifting across the sky
down to the hearts of people
so that they may join in the chorus
of glorious singing.
A throne of red rubies,
green emeralds,
white pearls,
diamonds,
and purified gold and silver for
the most high to sit upon.

Sonnet 28 by Petrarch

Alone, and lost in thought, the desert glade

Measuring I roam with lingering steps and slow;

And still a watchful glance around me throw,

Anxious to shun the print of human tread:

No other means I find, no surer aid

From the world's prying eye to hide my woe:

So well my wild disordered gestures show,

And love-lorn looks, the fire within me bred,

That well I think each mountain, wood and plain,

And river knows, what I from man conceal,

What dreary hues my life's fool chances dim.

Yet whatever wild or savage paths I've taken,

Wherever I wander, love attends me still,

Soft whispring to my soul, and I to him.

Also, try looking through quizilla.com for some really good poems. Since none of them are famous or anything like that, no one will notice it's plagurized. It's basically a site for people to express themselves and write through poetry, lyrics, short stories (though some of them are novel legnth and longer), quizzes, journals, and polls.

I don't really recommend this, though. A poem doesn't have to rhyme and doesn't have to be long. Just express your emotions and write some lines down. It's not that hard. Besides, if you read the poem to the class and it doesn't sound like something you would feel or something, they would know you stole it.

Cupid shoots his arrows
Never aimed at me
And makes people fall in love
One, Two, Three

Every single Valentines
Love is in the air
Everyone but me
Is one of a pair

On that day
Couples hold hands as I walk down the street
All in love but me
Cupid's got me beat

All other people have another
To "be mine," love, and smother
If only that arrow touched me
It wouldn't have to be

Valentines is almost over
Still without a kiss
I turned another corner--
Until I tripped

Falling at a speed
Where an arrow went unnoticed
I fell on someone
With a thud and a clutter

As I apologized for the tenth time
I looked up to see the most beautiful eyes
While I was so stunned they apologized too
They took my hand, now it's me and you

I LOVE poetry and I LOVE helping people. The problem is I do not know how lengthy you need this poem. So if it needs to be longer - by all means jump right in and help yourself. I hope it works. Good luck!
A Friend
Look at me with your heart
Don't judge me with your mind
We've come so far
to not go back in time.
Leave the past where it stays
come with me in all it entails
I'll show you the way
Together - we cannot fail.
The world plays hard against us
but we fight back
the world has prejudice
so we can't.
Be my friend
stay with me
until the end
where we share eternity!

Salsabin couldn't write a poem, she thought,
So she asked the Yahoo community for help,
Days went by and her patience was wrought,
She turned into a dog and has a nice yelp!

I wrote many poems that have been published and copyrighted. I suggest you write your own, too.
