Windows media?

hi can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong. when i go on an online site and want to watch something, alot of times it takes me to a link that says windows media on it. But it wont play or do anything after that, it's just a black screen that says window's media. I have windows media player so how can i access it?

Do you have the lastest active X controls downloaded to your PC?
Some media based items also required you to have the lastest version of shockwave player. Go here www.activex.com and www.shockwave.com

You may have to go into all progams > meida player > Set as default.
