I think there's a reason why your uncle gave you 5 cents. It may or may not be that he's stingy. He's probably trying to make you understand the greater things in life. Don't ask him why he gave you though, that's just plain stupid.
Oh and did you check if that 5 cents is actually an old coin or something? Could be worth a lot of money!
