I am RH- and my kids father is positive all 4 of my kids have ended up being rhesus positive my doctor told me that more likely than not the child ends up being positive. The blood type itself it not important it is the Rhesus factor that is and it will only really matter if your child is a girl. If this is your first child it will be fine the mother has never been exposed to the rhesus positive antibody before and therefore her body will not attack the baby. After birth she will be given an Anti-D injection and this will protect her for future pregnancies also when pregnant you get Anti-D shots during pregnancy and they monitor your Anti-D levels to see if you are at risk. The only danger just now is if she has an accident which might cause a bleed if she falls hurts herself or anything check with hospital advise she is rhesus negative as she might need an anti-D shot then. Also she should be given a card to carry around that states she is Rhesus Neg should anything ever happen to her it is very important to carry this around.

I am a negative blood type too. I'm O negative. And I heard from my sister a couple of years ago that I will have to have a shot for my future pregnancy. I don't have any kids yet and I'm not pregnant yet- as far as I know. But I will have to have the shot as well.

It's called a RhoGham vaccination, and you will ned it for each pregnancy. This means that your body can attack the blood cells of your baby since they probably won't be the same blood type. (The baby can have either yours or his blood type.) You'll need this shot before the baby is born and within 72 hours of it's birth. This is a precautionary measure taken so that your baby will be born healthy, and not sickly due to an attack by antibodies. My first child ended up Rh Positive, so I had to have the shot before and after her birth. With my second child, I only needed it before he was born and not afterwards because he was born Rh Negative.

Not a bog deal at all. I have O- blood. Twice in your pregnancy they give you a shot of rhogam to help your body produce the positive anitbodies that you don't have. If you have any spotting at all in your pregnancy you have to go and get a shot. And when the baby is born they test its blood. If its a positive you get another shot. If its negative you don't. If you haev a miscarriage, guess what...you get another shot. The shot is called Rhogam. You can probably search it online. Don't get freaked about having a negative blood type, there''s nothing to it

OK first if you have never had a child or a miscarriage then you are fine and the doc. will take care of you on when you need the shots which is like at 20 something weeks. and if baby is your blood type then you do not need one again. I had one when I started having bleeding in preg. and at 20 something weeks. She had my blood type so nothing after wards. It is called a Rogam shot. Need anything else just ask.
