Heard the job description in interview..If i get the job do i have to take it?? this is still within the company i work for but different dept.

No. The best course of approach would be to see your Human Resouces Manager as soon as possible and inform him/her that youhave reconsidered. You wish to withdraw your application before any decision is reached. You should state your reasons quite clearly and concisely, and preferably in a written note (keep copy). Inform the manager that you have re-considered your position after hearing the full job specifications, and consider that at this time you are not a suitable candidate for it. Also state that you are perfectly settled in your present position.

If it was the first time you'd heard the job description you'd have grounds for a polite 'thanks for the vote of confidence in my abilities, but having heard the full job description I'm not convinced that this is the right job for me. I'd rather decline the position at this moment in time'. They can't get offended by that, and they'll appreciate the honesty.

no, you can refuse any job offer. just say you have reconsidered and it is no longer suitable. they might not even offer it to you (no offense), so you may be worring about nothing

No you can turn it down without being penalised in any way.
